Meta charges your WhatsApp Business Account for every template message. Make sure a valid payment method is added in Meta Business Suite, otherwise templates won’t be delivered.
What are message templates?
Message templates are pre-approved messages that you can send to customers outside the 24-hour reply window. WhatsApp only allows free-form replies within 24 hours of the customer’s last message. Once that window closes, the only way to message the customer is with a template. When the customer replies, the window reopens and you can chat normally again. Templates are commonly used for:- Follow-ups — Re-engaging a customer who stopped replying.
- Order and account updates — Shipping confirmations, payment receipts, or appointment reminders.
- Announcements — New products, offers, or events sent to existing customers.
- Utility — Transactional messages related to an existing order, account, or request.
- Marketing — Promotions, announcements, and anything else not tied to a specific transaction.
